Friday Favorites on a Monday

January 25, 2016

¬†27 years…that’s how many years it takes, for what, I’m not sure, I’m still figuring it out. If you haven’t guessed it yet, I just turned 27….last week. I love birthdays, there’s nothing better then everyone being extra nice, cooking your meals, buying you lunch/coffee and obviously eating cake, right? But as each birthday comes, it’s inevitable that I get older. I know I’m still young but 30 is creeping up on me and I think when it gets here I’m going to need a big trip or something to take my mind off the fact that I’m no longer in my twenties.

Another birthday that we just had was little miss Jordyn Mackenzie who turned 5. She has been planning a rockstar birthday party in her head since last year so of course, that’s just what we did. Jud and I decided that we aren’t going to do big parties for every birthday because it’s just to much. We decided to do parties at certain ages and 5 happens to be one. So we invited a few of her closest friends and had a great time.IMG_0330

¬†Moving on…how bout some Friday favorites.

At the top of my list is this recipe for Drunkin Noodles. I made it last weekend and I was so pleasantly surprised. I decided to make it because the picture looked really good but I wasn’t expecting to much. Even the girls liked it, which means something because these days I can hardly get them to try anything! These are definitely a must try.

I recently came across this pin on pinterest about how important it is it clean your makeup brushes and I thought to myself “when was the last time I cleaned my brushes?” the answer was “duh, never…”. So I decided to and I followed THIS recipe, it was super simple and took me no time at all. The brushes smell good and I’m happy with the fact that I’m not putting all the germs and bacteria on my face day after day. Now if I can just keep up with it.

This mug I found a Target is also making it onto the list, it’s the perfect size and it reminds me of my husband, so I love it. IMG_0416
I wanted to add this picture to my favorites because I found this monkey sitting on the table after the girls went to bed one night and it made my day. I love finding little things like this around the house, especially after everyone is asleep and the house is quite. The days may be loud and crazy but I’m so blessed to have the three amazing kids I have and I love them so much!IMG_0280

I saw this NO sweatshirt and I think I need it. I say no all day long to my kids so the sweatshirt seems very fitting for my life.

There you have it, a few of my favorites lately. I hope you all had a great weekend, here’s to another week….

It’s a New Year

January 11, 2016

We’ve been going and going over here. Sometimes it feels like we’re going 100 miles an hour in circles and other times I feel as though we’ve run straight from Maine to California in a single day. We had a great Christmas vacation with Elly from home from school. Everyday I didn’t have to wake up to an alarm and get the troops up and ready was pure bliss. But alas all good things must come to an end, and just like every vacation, by the end we were all ready to get back into our routine and have some normalcy to the days again.

During our little vacation we spent lots of time playing with new toys, shopping the after Christmas sales, visiting with family and trying to rest and get rid of these colds that have seemed to latch onto us with all it’s might and won’t let go! I’ll take the cold over the flu anyway though, we haven’t gotten the flu yet this year, knock on wood. I will be interested to see if we get it this season because this is the first time that our whole family has gotten the flu shot, could it possibly work this year?! We shall see…

I thought I’d share a few pics from the past couple weeks.IMG_0095IMG_0093IMG_0110IMG_0135IMG_0120IMG_0047IMG_0103

So now we’re into 2016, yikes. I’m not sure how we got here so fast. This is going to be a good year for the Blake family. All the girls are old enough for us to do more family trips and fun play dates. We talked to Elly about riding her bike this summer while Jud and I run with the other two in the jogger, she is all about it. I’m glad because frankly, pushing a 7 year old in a jogger would be killer for Jud, although knowing my husband he would love the challenge.

I also thought I would give weight lifting a try this year. Jud and my brother have been lifting twice a week for a couple months now and I’ve decided to give it a go with them. I like it so far and it makes me feel like a beast, haha.IMG_0365 I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us. I hope you all had a great new year!!b55c1c7d714c8ad46028f4e9433ac8a1
